The flange must be smooth, full, and uniform without bulges, cracks, or blackening. It should transition naturally to the pipe wall without gaps. Non-compliance includes significant width variation, blistering, or suspended flanges.

The cross-section must show dense fusion with no cracks, porosity, or layering. The PE base material and fusion zone should be seamlessly integrated without distinct boundaries. Defects like layered cracking, pores, carbonized particles, or single-sided fusion require rework.

PE is resistant to corrosion by various chemical media and does not rust or undergo electrochemical corrosion. It also prevents the growth of algae, bacteria, or fungi, making it suitable for soil and chemical environments.

PE pipes containing 2-2.5% uniformly distributed carbon black can be stored or used outdoors for up to 50 years without being damaged by ultraviolet radiation.

Edge trimming must use a dedicated hot-melt edge-trimming tool for uniform circular cutting at constant speed. Using chisels or cutting machines is prohibited to avoid scratching the base material. Photographs must be taken for record-keeping.
