A 7% reactor tunes the circuit to about 190 Hz and suits sites whose dominant harmonics are the 5th order and above (typical general industrial loads). A 14% reactor tunes to about 134 Hz and suits sites with significant 3rd-order (triplen) harmonics from single-phase loads such as LED lighting and computers. A smart capacitor module integrates the capacitor, zero-crossing switch, controller and protection in one unit, so it needs no separate contactor or central controller and compensates automatically per phase or in three phases. One controller can manage up to 30 modules, and the switching unit is tested to 2 million cycles.
