36kv termination kit factory manufacturers

When sourcing from a factory, you must ensure the kits are designed for 36kV (Um up to 42kV) applications. Key specs include Cold Shrink or Heat Shrink technology, tracking resistance of the outer tubing, and stress control integrity. Ensure the kits support the specific cable cross-section (e.g., 50-630mm²) and conductor material (Copper or Aluminum) used in your project. High-quality factories should provide liquid silicone rubber (LSR) components for superior elasticity and UV resistance.

The factory must demonstrate compliance with IEC 60502-4, which governs test requirements for accessories on power cables from 6kV up to 30kV (Um = 36kV). Additionally, look for IEEE 48 standards for North American markets or CENELEC HD 629.1. A reputable factory should hold an ISO 9001 quality management certification and provide Type Test Reports from independent labs like KEMA or CPRI to validate long-term reliability.

Cold Shrink kits are generally preferred for 36kV applications due to easier installation without a torch, reducing the risk of cable damage and human error. However, they have a shorter shelf life (typically 12-24 months). Heat Shrink kits are more cost-effective and have a longer shelf life, but require skilled labor for uniform heating. Your choice should depend on the installer's skill level and the environmental conditions of the site.

For outdoor installations, the kit must include rain skirts (sheds) to increase the creepage distance and prevent flashovers during wet conditions. For coastal or highly polluted industrial areas, specify extra-high creepage distance designs. If the termination is for switchgear or transformers, ensure the kit is compatible with the bushing dimensions and includes the correct mechanical shear bolt lugs or compression terminals.

Always request a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). For 36kV equipment, this should include a Partial Discharge (PD) test and a Power Frequency Withstand Voltage test on sample batches. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure that payment is only released after the goods pass quality verification and shipping documents are confirmed.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for extended warranties (2-5 years) and the inclusion of installation kits (cleaning tissues, lubricant, and instructions). For bulk orders, ask for customized branding (OEM) and tiered pricing where a 15-20% discount is applied for volumes exceeding 500 sets.

Termination kits contain sensitive components like silicone grease and cleaning solvents, which may be classified as sensitive goods in air freight. Ensure the factory provides a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). For Cold Shrink kits, ensure the packaging prevents accidental collapse of the plastic core during transit, as this renders the product unusable.

Verify the HS Code (typically 8547 or 8546) to calculate accurate import duties in your country. Ensure the factory provides a Certificate of Origin (CO) to benefit from any Free Trade Agreements (FTA) that might exist between China and your specific region, potentially reducing tariffs to zero.
