4 wheel electric bike manufacturers

When evaluating 4-wheel electric bikes (often categorized as electric quadricycles or mobility scooters), you must prioritize the motor power (typically 500W to 3000W) and battery type. Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries are preferred for their longer life cycle and safety compared to standard lead-acid batteries. Additionally, check the climbing capacity (gradient angle), braking system (hydraulic disc brakes are superior), and the chassis suspension system to ensure stability and comfort across different terrains.

Compliance is critical for legal operation and customs clearance. For the European market, ensure the product has CE certification and meets L6e or L7e quadricycle categories under EU Regulation 168/2013. For the U.S. market, verify compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) standards for Low-Speed Vehicles (LSV) and UL 2272 certification for the electrical system to prevent fire risks. Always request MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and UN38.3 test reports for battery transportation.

Request the supplier to provide a static load test report and a dynamic stability test report. For commercial delivery or passenger use, the maximum load capacity should be at least 200kg-400kg. Look for frames made of reinforced carbon steel or aluminum alloy with anti-corrosion coating. Ask for the IP rating (e.g., IP54 or IP65) to ensure the electrical components are protected against dust and water splashes during outdoor use.

A high-quality supplier on Made-in-China.com should offer modular configurations. This includes options for enclosed vs. open cabins, customizable battery ranges (e.g., 60km to 120km), and branding/logo integration. For specialized industries, inquire about cargo box attachments, solar roof panels, or GPS tracking integration for fleet management.

The biggest risks involve battery safety and customs seizure due to non-compliance. Mitigate this by using Third-Party Inspection services (like SGS or Intertek) to conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin to potentially reduce import tariffs under specific trade agreements. Always use Secure Payment terms such as those offered through Made-in-China.com's Star Buyer services to protect your funds until shipping documents are verified.

4-wheel electric bikes are bulky and contain Class 9 Hazardous Materials (batteries). It is most cost-effective to ship via Sea Freight (FCL - Full Container Load) to prevent damage. Ensure the supplier uses iron-frame crates or reinforced wooden boxes for packaging. Confirm the Incoterms clearly; FOB (Free on Board) is recommended for experienced buyers to maintain control over freight costs, while DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) may be easier for first-time buyers despite higher costs.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for spare parts kits (5% of order value) including tires, brake pads, and controllers to be included in the bulk price. Discuss warranty terms (ideally 1-2 years for motor and battery) and ask for a technical support manual in your local language. For large orders, request a staggered payment schedule (e.g., 30% deposit, 70% against BL copy).
