The three most common processes are Hard Enamel (Cloisonné), Soft Enamel, and Die-Struck (Metal Only). Hard Enamel offers a premium, smooth, and polished finish where the enamel is level with the metal borders, making it ideal for high-end branding. Soft Enamel features recessed enamel areas and raised metal lines, providing a textured feel and is the most cost-effective for detailed designs. Die-Struck pins use no color and rely on sandblasting or polishing for a classic, jewelry-like appearance. For complex photographic designs, Offset Printing with an epoxy coating is the recommended technology.
