Botanical+herb extract factory manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize Standardized Extracts over ratio extracts to ensure consistent efficacy. Key specs include the Active Ingredient Content (verified by HPLC or UV-VIS), Solubility (water vs. ethanol), and Particle Size (mesh count). For food or pharma grade, ensure the Moisture Content is <5% and Ash Content is <5% to prevent microbial growth and ensure purity.

A reputable factory must hold GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and ISO 22000 or HACCP certifications. For specific markets, look for USDA Organic or EU Organic certifications. If exporting to the US, the facility must be FDA Registered, and products should comply with heavy metal limits (Pb, As, Hg, Cd) and pesticide residue standards (USP <561>).

Request a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch and a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). It is highly recommended to perform Third-Party Testing (e.g., SGS, Eurofins) to verify the Fingerprint Chromatogram, which ensures the extract isn't 'spiked' with synthetic additives to inflate active ingredient percentages.

Advanced factories utilize Supercritical CO2 Extraction for high purity without solvent residue, or Ultrasonic-Assisted Extraction for heat-sensitive compounds. For bulk efficiency, Multi-stage Countercurrent Extraction is preferred. Ensure the factory has Vacuum Low-Temperature Drying or Spray Drying capabilities to preserve the bioactivity of the herbs.

The biggest risks are Adulteration (mixing with cheaper fillers) and Customs Seizure due to non-compliant labeling or restricted species (CITES). Always use Trade Assurance services on platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until quality is verified by a pre-shipment inspection.

Prices for herb extracts fluctuate based on Raw Material Harvest Seasons. Negotiate for Tiered Pricing based on volume and ask for a Price Lock Agreement for 6-12 months if you are a repeat buyer. For new formulations, aim for a Low MOQ (1kg - 5kg) for the pilot phase before committing to 100kg+ bulk orders.

Extracts are sensitive to light, heat, and moisture. Ensure the supplier uses Double-layer Food Grade PE Bags inside Fiber Drums. For long-haul sea freight, specify Temperature-Controlled Containers or ensure the goods are stored in a Cool, Dry, and Dark environment to prevent degradation of active compounds during transit.

Conduct a Factory Audit (virtual or third-party) to confirm the supplier is a Manufacturer, not a Trading Company. Verify their Export License and ensure the bank account name matches the company name on the Made-in-China.com audited profile to avoid payment fraud.
