Bus air horn price manufacturers

The price is primarily driven by the decibel (dB) output, typically ranging from 120dB to 150dB, and the material construction. High-end models use chrome-plated zinc alloy or stainless steel for corrosion resistance, while budget options use ABS plastic. Additionally, the operating voltage (12V vs. 24V) must match the bus's electrical system, and the solenoid valve quality is critical for response speed and longevity.

Buyers must ensure products meet ECE R28 (UN Regulation) for audible warning devices or SAE J377 for North American markets. Compliance with IP67 waterproof ratings is essential for exterior-mounted horns to prevent failure during heavy rain. Sourcing certified products may carry a 10-15% price premium but prevents legal risks and customs seizures.

For long-distance coaches, a dual-tone or triple-trumpet design is preferred to provide a penetrating sound that carries over highway noise. For urban transit buses, a controlled sound pressure level is necessary to avoid noise pollution violations. Functional reliability requires the horn to operate consistently within a pressure range of 0.3MPa to 0.8MPa.

Analyze the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by comparing the unit price against the rated service life (e.g., 100,000 cycles). A $15 unit that lasts one year is less economical than a $40 heavy-duty unit with a 2-year warranty. For bulk procurement, look for tiered pricing where orders over 500 units can reduce the per-unit cost by 20-30%.

The primary risks include voltage mismatch (ordering 12V for 24V systems) and low-quality solenoids that burn out quickly. To mitigate this, request a video performance test showing the horn connected to a pressure gauge and power source. Ensure the supplier provides clear wiring diagrams and installation manuals in English to avoid installation damage.

Focus on sample-to-bulk credit: negotiate to have the sample cost deducted from the first mass production order. Ask for spare parts (solenoids and diaphragms) to be included at a discounted rate (e.g., 2-5% extra components) to handle local warranty claims without needing international shipping for small parts.

If the air horn includes an integrated electric compressor, it may be classified as sensitive cargo due to the motor's magnetism. Ensure the supplier uses magnetic shielding packaging for air freight. For sea freight, verify that the packaging is moisture-proof to prevent the chrome finish from pitting during long transit times in high-humidity containers.

Always use Secured Trading Services on Made-in-China.com to ensure payments are only released after the Bill of Lading (B/L) is uploaded or inspection is passed. For large orders, hire a third-party inspection agency to perform a Random Sampling Inspection focusing on sound frequency consistency and finish quality before the final balance is paid.
