Cordyceps price manufacturers

Buyers must understand that Cordyceps Sinensis (Wild) is a high-value medicinal fungus primarily from the Tibetan Plateau, while Cordyceps Militaris (Cultivated) is widely used in supplements and food. Sinensis is significantly more expensive and subject to CITES regulations in some regions. For mass-market supplements, Cordyceps Militaris is the industry standard due to its higher Cordycepin content and lower cost-to-potency ratio.

Professional buyers should request a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) focusing on three markers: Cordycepin (ideally >0.5% for Militaris), Adenosine (>0.05%), and Polysaccharides (>20%). Ensure the testing is conducted via HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) to guarantee accuracy. If the product is 'Cordyceps Extract,' verify the extraction ratio (e.g., 10:1 or 20:1) to ensure it meets your formulation requirements.

For the US market, products must comply with FDA GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) or NDI (New Dietary Ingredient) notifications. For the EU, it falls under Novel Food Regulations. Ensure the supplier holds GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and ISO 22000/HACCP certifications. Additionally, Heavy Metal Limits (Lead <0.5mg/kg, Mercury <0.1mg/kg) and Pesticide Residue Reports are non-negotiable for customs clearance.

Pricing is highly dependent on the processing stage. Whole dried fruiting bodies are priced by appearance and size; Cordyceps Powder (CS-4) is a cost-effective fermented mycelium option for capsules; and Standardized Extracts are priced based on the concentration of active compounds. Bulk orders exceeding 500kg typically qualify for a 15-25% discount compared to sample pricing.

The biggest risk is adulteration or 'weight-loading', where suppliers add metal wires or moisture to increase weight. Always insist on Third-Party Inspection (such as SGS or Intertek) before final payment. Another risk is species substitution, where inferior fungi are sold as premium Sinensis. Using a reputable platform like Made-in-China.com allows you to select Audited Suppliers who have undergone verified field inspections.

Cordyceps is highly sensitive to moisture and heat, which can lead to mold and degradation of active ingredients. Negotiate for vacuum-sealed aluminum foil packaging and temperature-controlled shipping (Reefer containers) if the transit time exceeds 15 days. Ensure the Incoterms clearly define the point of risk transfer, preferably using FOB or CIF to ensure the supplier handles domestic export formalities.

For first-time transactions, use Escrow services or Letter of Credit (L/C) to protect your capital. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Utilize the Secured Trading services on Made-in-China.com to ensure that payment is only released to the supplier once the Bill of Lading (B/L) and quality inspection reports are verified.

Clearly define the HS Code (typically 0712.39 for dried mushrooms or 1302.19 for vegetable extracts) on all commercial invoices. Misclassification can lead to seizure by customs or high anti-dumping duties. Consult with a licensed customs broker in your destination country to ensure the Health Certificate and Phytosanitary Certificate provided by the supplier meet local entry requirements.
