Doussie wood, scientifically known as Afzelia, is prized for its exceptional durability, stability, and resistance to termites and decay. It features a Janka hardness of approximately 1,810 lbf, making it harder than White Oak. Common usage scenarios include high-end outdoor decking, heavy-duty flooring, ship building, and luxury furniture. When sourcing, specify the moisture content (MC); for furniture, it should be kiln-dried (KD) to 8-12%, whereas for outdoor construction, Air-Dried (AD) may suffice.
