Glass honey packaging jar manufacturers

Prioritize High Borosilicate glass or Soda-lime glass that is BPA-free and Lead-free. For honey, the glass must be food-grade (FDA or LFGB compliant) to ensure no chemical leaching occurs during long-term storage. Ensure the glass has high thermal shock resistance if the honey requires heating during the bottling process.

Select jars with precision-threaded necks or lug finishes. The lids should include a food-grade plastisol liner or a silicone gasket to create a hermetic seal. This is critical to prevent moisture absorption, which leads to honey fermentation, and to maintain the vacuum seal required for commercial shelf stability.

Suppliers must provide FDA (USA), EC 1935/2004 (EU), or LFGB (Germany) certification. Additionally, ensure the manufacturer holds ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 22000 or HACCP if they provide pre-sterilized packaging solutions.

Look for suppliers offering silk-screen printing, hot stamping, or acid frosting. For premium honey brands, custom mold development for unique jar shapes is recommended. Ensure the supplier can provide high-resolution 3D renders or physical samples before mass production to verify logo alignment and color accuracy.

Request 5-layer corrugated export cartons with individual cell dividers (egg-crate packing). For bulk orders, insist on palletization with plastic wrap and corner protectors. It is highly recommended to conduct a ISTA 1A drop test before dispatch and ensure the shipping terms include Marine Insurance to cover potential transit damage.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for lower MOQs on trial orders by using standard mold shapes, and ask for tiered pricing (e.g., 5,000 vs. 20,000 units). Always verify if the mold fee can be refunded once a certain order volume is reached.

Check for the 'Audited Supplier' badge on Made-in-China.com, which indicates a third-party verification by SGS or TÜV Rheinland. Request a live video factory tour to inspect their Quality Control (QC) lab and check their export history to your specific target country to ensure they understand local customs requirements.

Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) that some regions (like the EU or USA) may impose on Chinese glassware. Ensure the HS Code (typically 7010.90) is correctly declared. To optimize costs, use FOB (Free On Board) terms if you have a reliable freight forwarder, as glass is heavy and shipping costs can fluctuate significantly.
