I have found results from400+products and200+suppliers aboutGold 14k
14K gold contains 58.3% pure gold mixed with alloy metals. Buyers must ensure every piece carries a hallmark stamp (e.g., '14K' or '585'). For bulk B2B procurement, you should request a XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis report from the supplier to verify the exact metal composition without damaging the product. Additionally, check for SGS or TUV certifications to ensure the alloy components (like nickel or copper) meet international safety standards.
Focus on the casting quality and finishing. High-quality 14K gold should have a smooth surface free of porosity or pits, which are signs of poor casting. If the items are plated (e.g., 14K gold over silver or brass), verify the micron thickness (at least 2.5 microns for vermeil) to ensure durability. For functional parts like clasps and earring backs, ensure they are tension-tested to prevent breakage during retail use.
14K gold comes in Yellow, White, and Rose varieties. Yellow gold is classic, while Rose gold (higher copper content) is currently trending in fashion jewelry. White gold must be Rhodium-plated to achieve a bright silver finish; buyers should confirm the plating quality to prevent premature yellowing. Choosing the right color mix is essential for aligning with regional consumer preferences.
For the US market, products must comply with the FTC Jewelry Guides regarding marking and descriptions. For the EU, adherence to the REACH Regulation is mandatory, specifically limiting Nickel, Lead, and Cadmium release to prevent skin allergies. Always ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin to comply with the Dodd-Frank Act regarding conflict-free minerals.
Gold prices fluctuate daily based on the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) fix. Professional buyers should negotiate a 'Gold Price Linkage' formula with suppliers, where the labor cost (making charge) is fixed, but the material cost is adjusted based on the market spot price at the time of order confirmation.
Due to the high value of 14K gold, never use unsecured payment methods. Utilize Escrow services or Trade Terms on Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. For large orders, consider a Letter of Credit (L/C) or a 30% deposit / 70% balance after third-party inspection.
High-value jewelry requires specialized courier services like FedEx Priority or DHL Express with 'High-Value Goods' declarations. It is mandatory to purchase All-Risk Marine/Air Insurance covering 110% of the invoice value. Ensure the packaging is discreet and tamper-evident to prevent theft during transit.
Accurate HS Code classification (typically Chapter 71) is vital to avoid fines. Be aware that many countries impose luxury taxes or high import duties on gold jewelry. Work with a customs broker to verify if your trade route qualifies for Free Trade Agreement (FTA) duty exemptions.
