Ham holder manufacturers

When sourcing ham holders, prioritize stability and material durability. For professional use, look for bases made of solid wood (like pine or beech) or high-density polyethylene (PE-HD) which is non-porous and easy to clean. The clamping mechanism should ideally feature a 360-degree rotating head (casquillo giratorio) to allow the carver to turn the ham without removing it from the stand. Ensure the hardware is made of AISI 304 stainless steel to prevent corrosion from the salt and fats of the ham.

Since the product comes into contact with food-related items, it must comply with Food Grade Material standards. For the US market, ensure materials are FDA compliant, and for the EU, they should meet Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004. If the holder includes wooden components, verify if ISPM 15 fumigation certificates are needed for the wooden base to prevent pest transmission during cross-border shipping.

For high-traffic commercial environments (restaurants or delis), a vertical ham holder or a heavy-duty tilting (basculante) model is preferred for ergonomic carving over long periods. For retail or home-use markets, foldable (plegable) ham holders are highly sought after due to their space-saving design and lower shipping volume, which significantly reduces logistics costs.

Buyers should request a load-bearing test to ensure the arm can support hams weighing 7kg to 12kg without bending. Check the anti-slip feet on the base for grip consistency. For premium models, inspect the surface finish—wood should be treated with food-safe varnish or oil, and metal parts should have no sharp burrs that could injure the user or contaminate the meat.

Utilize secure payment services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com, which offer trade assurance to protect your funds until the goods are confirmed as shipped. Always conduct a factory audit or hire a third-party inspection service (like SGS or Intertek) to verify the supplier's production capacity and ISO certifications before transferring large deposits.

Start by requesting a tiered pricing structure based on volume; typically, a 15-20% discount can be achieved when moving from sample quantities to a full container load (FCL). Negotiate for OEM branding (laser-engraved logos) to be included in the unit price for orders exceeding 500 units. If you are a startup, look for suppliers on Made-in-China.com that offer flexible MOQs (as low as 10-50 units) for trial market testing.

Because ham holders (especially those with marble or solid wood bases) are heavy and bulky, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical choice for bulk orders. For urgent samples, use International Express (DHL/FedEx), but ensure the supplier uses reinforced double-wall corrugated packaging and EPE foam padding to prevent the heavy bases from cracking during transit.

Identify the correct HS Code (typically 4419 for wooden kitchenware or 7323 for steel items) to determine the exact import duty rates in your country. Be aware of Anti-Dumping duties that may apply to specific materials from certain regions. Ensure the supplier provides a clear Commercial Invoice, Packing List, and Certificate of Origin to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
