Icaritin manufacturers

Icaritin is a high-value flavonoid derivative. Buyers must prioritize purity levels of ≥98% (HPLC) for pharmaceutical or high-end nutraceutical applications. Ensure the product is a light yellow crystalline powder with a specific CAS number (489-32-7). Technical data sheets (TDS) should confirm its molecular weight (368.38) and molecular formula (C21H20O6) to prevent confusion with its precursor, Icariin.

As a bioactive compound, Icaritin requires strict documentation. You must verify that the supplier holds GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certification. For international trade, ensure the availability of a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for transport safety, and compliance with ISO 9001 for quality management. If intended for supplements, check for HACCP or Kosher/Halal certifications depending on the target market.

It is critical to distinguish between the two: Icaritin is the aglycone form of Icariin, produced via enzymatic hydrolysis. Icaritin has higher bioavailability and is increasingly researched for anti-tumor properties and hormonal health, whereas Icariin is more common in traditional extracts. Because the conversion process is complex, Icaritin commands a significantly higher market price, making it essential to verify the chemical structure via H-NMR or Mass Spectrometry.

Icaritin is sensitive to light and moisture. Suppliers should provide packaging in double-layer plastic bags inside fiber drums, often with aluminum foil vacuum sealing. It must be stored in a cool, dry place (2-8°C for long-term stability) and kept away from strong light. Buyers should request stability testing data to ensure the potency remains within spec during the 24-month shelf life.

Always utilize third-party inspection services (such as SGS or Pony Testing) before the final balance payment. Request a pre-shipment sample that is 'locked' and compared against the bulk delivery. On Made-in-China.com, prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone on-site verification of their laboratory capabilities.

Icaritin is often shipped in small volumes but high values. Use express air freight (FedEx/DHL) for speed and climate control. Ensure the HS Code (typically 293299) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays. For large orders, ensure the supplier provides a Declaration of Non-Hazardous Goods to facilitate smooth transit through international hubs.

Focus on batch consistency rather than just the lowest price. Negotiate a staged payment plan (e.g., 30% deposit, 70% after third-party lab validation). Ask for volume-based pricing tiers, as the cost of enzymatic production drops significantly at the 5kg, 10kg, and 25kg levels. Ensure the contract includes a rejection clause if the purity falls below the agreed HPLC threshold.

Use secure payment methods that offer buyer protection. Conduct thorough due diligence by checking the supplier's business license and export permits. On Made-in-China.com, look for the 'Full Search' report on suppliers to verify their historical export performance and legal standing to avoid 'fly-by-night' brokers.
