K9 crystal price manufacturers

K9 crystal is a Borosilicate Crown Glass known for its high refractive index and clarity. When sourcing, you must verify the refractive index (typically 1.51) and the Abbe value (approx. 64). Ensure the material is lead-free (unlike full lead crystal) and check for bubble-free and scratch-free surface standards. For optical or high-end decorative use, specify a polishing grade of 60/40 or 40/20 scratch-dig to ensure maximum light transmission.

High-quality K9 crystal should have superior hardness (approx. 5.5 Mohs) and a distinct weight density of 2.45g/cm³. Unlike ordinary soda-lime glass, K9 crystal provides higher light dispersion, creating a 'rainbow' effect when hit by light. Request a spectrophotometer test report to confirm light transmittance levels, which should ideally exceed 90% for premium grades.

For the US market, ensure compliance with ASTM F963 if the crystal is used in giftware or toys. For the EU, REACH and RoHS certifications are essential to prove the absence of hazardous substances like lead or cadmium. If the crystal is used in lighting fixtures (chandeliers), the final assembly must meet UL or CE electrical safety standards.

Pricing is primarily driven by cutting precision (CNC vs. hand-cut), polishing quality, and volume. Bulk orders (MOQ > 500 units) typically see a price reduction of 20-35%. Additionally, the complexity of internal laser engraving (if required) significantly impacts the unit cost. To optimize feasibility, source from clusters like Pujiang, China, known as the 'City of Crystals,' via reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com.

The main risk is fragility and breakage during transit. You must mandate 5-layer corrugated outer cartons and custom-fit EPE foam or velvet-lined gift boxes for internal protection. Ensure the shipment is marked with 'Fragile' and 'Keep Upright' labels. It is highly recommended to purchase Marine/Cargo Insurance covering 'All Risks' to protect against loss during sea or air freight.

Start by requesting a pre-production sample and a Golden Sample for final comparison. Negotiate a Quality Assurance Agreement (QAA) that specifies a Maximum Acceptable Quality Level (AQL 1.5 or 2.5). Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to hold payments until a third-party pre-shipment inspection (PSI) confirms the goods meet the agreed-upon clarity and dimensions.

For large volumes, FOB (Free On Board) is preferred to maintain control over shipping costs. For smaller, high-value boutique items, DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) via air express (DHL/FedEx) is more efficient for customs clearance. Ensure the Harmonized System (HS) Code 7018.90 (for glass/crystal ornaments) is used correctly to avoid tariff misclassification and customs delays.
