Ldpe powder manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize the Melt Flow Index (MFI), which typically ranges from 2 to 70 g/10 min depending on the application. For coating processes, a higher MFI is preferred. Additionally, particle size distribution (mesh size) is critical; for rotational molding or textile coating, a fineness of 20-80 mesh is standard. Ensure the density remains within the 0.910–0.940 g/cm³ range to guarantee the desired flexibility and impact resistance.

For food-contact applications (like food packaging coatings), the powder must comply with FDA (21 CFR 177.1520) or EU Regulation No. 10/2011. For general industrial use, ensure the supplier provides REACH and RoHS certification to confirm the absence of hazardous substances. If used in toys or medical devices, additional EN71 or ISO 10993 certifications may be required.

LDPE powder is highly versatile. Micronized LDPE powder is widely used in textile interlinings and carpet backing as a hot-melt adhesive. Coarse-grade powder is ideal for rotational molding of large tanks and containers. It is also extensively used in metal dip coating to provide a corrosion-resistant, smooth finish on wire products like dishwasher racks.

Request a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch. Key metrics to verify include moisture content (should be <0.1%), bulk density, and tensile strength. It is highly recommended to perform a pilot run with a 5-10kg sample to test the powder's fusion behavior and adhesion strength under your specific processing temperatures.

The primary risks include moisture absorption during sea transit and contamination due to damaged packaging. Ensure the supplier uses moisture-proof, multi-layer paper bags or PE-lined jumbo bags. Furthermore, verify the HS Code (typically 3901.10) to avoid customs delays or incorrect tariff applications.

LDPE pricing is heavily influenced by crude oil market fluctuations. Negotiate for a formula-based pricing model for long-term contracts. While standard MOQs are often 1 ton, you can negotiate lower volumes for specialty colors or additives by offering to pay a small premium for small-batch processing.

Always use Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure payment is only released upon proof of shipment. For high-value orders, insist on a third-party pre-shipment inspection (such as SGS or Intertek) to verify the weight, packaging integrity, and technical specifications before the container is sealed.

LDPE powder is generally classified as non-hazardous for transport, but it is combustible. Ensure the shipping documents include a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). To optimize costs, utilize FCL (Full Container Load) shipping, as LCL (Less than Container Load) increases the risk of cross-contamination with other chemical goods in the same container.
