Linear displacement manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize Measurement Range (Stroke Length), ensuring it covers the full movement of the application with a safety margin. Linearity Accuracy is critical; for industrial automation, a linearity of ±0.05% to ±0.1% FS is standard. Additionally, evaluate the Output Signal (e.g., 4-20mA, 0-10V, or digital RS485/CANbus) to ensure compatibility with your PLC or Data Acquisition System.

For harsh environments with high vibration or moisture, Magnetostrictive or LVDT sensors are preferred due to their non-contact design, which eliminates mechanical wear. If the application involves outdoor use or hydraulic fluids, ensure an IP67 or IP68 ingress protection rating. For cost-sensitive, clean indoor applications, Potentiometric (Resistance) sensors offer an economical solution but have a finite lifespan due to physical contact.

Products must carry the CE Mark for the European market and RoHS/REACH compliance to ensure the absence of hazardous substances. For sensors used in hazardous zones (e.g., oil and gas), ATEX or IECEx explosion-proof certification is mandatory. Always request ISO 9001 factory audit reports to verify consistent manufacturing quality.

Request a Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) report and details on Temperature Drift coefficients (ideally <50ppm/°C). Professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com should provide third-party calibration certificates and offer a warranty period of at least 12 to 24 months for industrial-grade components.

Implement a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) focusing on functional testing. Require the supplier to provide a video of the actual unit being tested against a calibrated reference. Use Secure Payment services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released after the shipping documents are verified.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for spare parts (e.g., mounting brackets, connectors) to be included in the bulk price. For long-term projects, request a Price Lock Agreement for 6-12 months to protect against fluctuations in raw material costs like high-grade magnets or specialized alloys.

Linear sensors are sensitive to physical shock and electromagnetic interference. Insist on Anti-static (ESD) packaging and double-walled corrugated boxes with foam inserts. For long-stroke sensors (over 1 meter), specify wooden crate reinforcement to prevent bending during transit. Ensure the Incoterms are clearly defined; CIF or DAP are recommended for buyers who want the supplier to handle the complexities of international freight insurance.
