Makita 18v battery manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) cells with high energy density. Key specs include Ampere-hour (Ah) ratings (typically 3.0Ah to 6.0Ah), where higher Ah provides longer runtime. Ensure the battery features a Star Protection Computer Control™ communication protocol to prevent over-loading, over-discharging, and over-heating. Additionally, verify the presence of an integrated LED battery charge level indicator for user convenience.

To ensure compatibility, the battery must match the Makita LXT platform interface. Safety is paramount; look for built-in circuit protection and fire-retardant ABS housing. It is critical to confirm that the battery is compatible with DC18RC or DC18RD rapid chargers. Requesting UN38.3 test reports is mandatory to ensure the battery is safe for air and sea transport.

For the US market, UL 2595 or UL 1642 certification is standard for lithium battery safety. For the EU, CE marking and compliance with the RoHS Directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) are required. Furthermore, WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) registration is often necessary for environmental compliance in European regions.

While 6.0Ah batteries have a higher unit cost, they offer a lower cost-per-minute of operation in high-drain tools like circular saws or grinders. For B2B buyers, sourcing bulk packs (2-pc or 10-pc sets) can reduce the per-unit price by 15-25%. Evaluate the cycle life (typically 500-1000 charges); a slightly more expensive battery with a higher cycle life provides better long-term ROI.

Lithium batteries are classified as Class 9 Dangerous Goods. You must ensure the supplier provides a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and a Dangerous Goods Declaration. For shipping to countries like the US or UK, use specialized DG (Dangerous Goods) forwarders who understand the packaging requirements (e.g., inner packaging to prevent short circuits and specific outer box labeling).

Negotiate a warranty period of at least 12 months. Demand a Defective Rate Guarantee (e.g., less than 1%). For large orders, stipulate that the supplier provides 1-2% extra units free of charge to cover potential DOA (Dead on Arrival) cases. Always use Trade Messenger to document all technical promises and quality benchmarks.

Utilize Secured Trading Services on Made-in-China.com to ensure payment is only released after the goods pass inspection. For first-time bulk orders, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI), focusing on capacity testing and internal cell brand verification.

Check the HS Code (typically 8507.60) for lithium-ion batteries in your country to determine import duties. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties that may apply to specific manufacturing regions. Always calculate the Landed Cost, which includes the factory price, ocean/air freight, insurance, and local customs clearance fees.
