Medical gauze fabric manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize the mesh count (e.g., 19x15, 24x20, or 30x20) and yarn count (typically 40s), as these determine the fabric's density and absorbency. Ensure the material is 100% cotton to prevent skin irritation and check for fluorescent-free bleaching to meet medical safety standards. For surgical use, verify the X-ray detectable thread integration.

The product must adhere to ISO 13485 for medical device quality management systems. Depending on the target market, look for CE Marking (EU), FDA Registration (USA), or EN 12766 standards. Additionally, ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch to confirm sterility and purity.

Buyers should choose between non-sterile rolls (for further processing) and pre-sterilized packs. If pre-sterilized, confirm the method used, such as EO (Ethylene Oxide) or Gamma Radiation, and ensure the packaging integrity maintains a sterile barrier for at least 3 to 5 years.

High-density gauze is ideal for wound dressing and surgical swabs due to its high fluid retention. Low-density gauze is often used for secondary bandaging or cleaning. For specialized needs, such as burn care, look for paraffin-impregnated gauze to prevent wound adhesion.

Always prioritize 'Audited Suppliers' who have undergone third-party verification by agencies like SGS or Bureau Veritas. Request their Medical Device Production License and check if their scope of business covers export-grade medical consumables.

The primary risk is moisture and contamination during transit. Ensure the contract specifies double-layer moisture-proof packaging and palletization to prevent floor contact. For sea freight, use desiccants inside the container to maintain a dry environment, as dampness can lead to mold, rendering the medical product useless.

Since gauze is a commodity, price is sensitive to raw cotton market fluctuations. Negotiate a price adjustment clause for long-term contracts. Aim for a 10-15% discount on volumes exceeding 100,000 meters, and request free samples from the mass production run (not just showroom samples) before final payment.

Utilize Secured Trading Services on Made-in-China.com to hold payments until shipping documents are verified. It is highly recommended to hire a third-party inspector to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to check for thread debris, weight accuracy, and sterile pouch sealing strength.
