Metal end stopper manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize Zinc Alloy (Die-casting) for complex shapes or Brass for high-end durability and corrosion resistance. Ensure the surface treatment uses Electroplating (e.g., Rack Plating) rather than barrel plating for a smoother finish and better wear resistance. Always verify that the base metal is Lead-free and Nickel-free to meet international safety standards.

For products exported to the US, compliance with CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) regarding lead content is mandatory. For the EU market, items must pass REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) testing, specifically for Nickel release to prevent skin allergies. Additionally, ensure the stoppers meet OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 if they are intended for infant or children's apparel.

Request a Salt Spray Test report (typically 24 to 48 hours) to ensure the plating won't corrode during shipping or use. For stoppers used on drawstrings, check the Internal Diameter (ID) consistency to ensure a snug fit. Perform a Pull-off Force Test; a high-quality stopper should withstand at least 90 Newtons (N) of force to prevent it from detaching and becoming a choking hazard.

Professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com usually offer Laser Engraving or Embossed Logos for branding. Discuss Mold Costs for custom shapes, which typically range from $150 to $500 depending on complexity. Also, confirm the availability of Pantone Color Matching for the plating or painting to ensure consistency with your overall product design.

The primary risks include Oxidation during sea freight due to humidity and Color Inconsistency between production batches. To mitigate this, require the supplier to use Silica Gel desiccant packets in vacuum-sealed packaging and request a Golden Sample to be kept by both parties as a quality benchmark for future orders.

Metal prices are tied to Raw Material Market Fluctuations (LME rates). Negotiate a Price Validity Period (e.g., 30 days) to avoid sudden increases. For MOQs, while standard items may require 1,000 to 5,000 pieces, you can often negotiate a lower MOQ by paying a Small Order Surcharge or by choosing a 'Stock Color' like Shiny Gold or Gunmetal.

Always use Secure Payment Terms such as L/C (Letter of Credit) for large volumes or Escrow-based services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Never wire full payments upfront to unverified accounts; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is the industry norm for established relationships.

Since metal stoppers are small but heavy, Air Express (DHL/FedEx/UPS) is best for samples or small batches under 45kg. For bulk production, LCL (Less than Container Load) Sea Freight is the most cost-effective. Ensure the supplier provides a Detailed Packing List and HS Code 9607.20 (Zipper Parts/Hardware) to streamline customs clearance and avoid tariff misclassification.
