Metal halide capacitor manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize capacitance value (µF) and voltage rating (VAC), ensuring they match the specific ballast requirements. Key factors include tolerance levels (typically ±5% or ±10%), operating temperature range (usually up to 85°C or 100°C), and the dissipation factor, which indicates energy efficiency. For high-intensity discharge (HID) systems, ensure the capacitor features a built-in discharge resistor for safety.

To ensure safety and market access, capacitors should meet UL 810 (for USA/Canada) or EN 61048/61049 (for Europe). Look for the CE mark and RoHS compliance to ensure the absence of hazardous substances like lead or mercury. For explosion-proof requirements, verify the P2 safety class rating, which guarantees the device will fail safely without bursting.

Aluminum oil-filled casings are preferred for high-wattage industrial applications due to superior heat dissipation and internal pressure-sensitive disconnector (AFC) mechanisms. For smaller, cost-sensitive indoor fixtures, dry-type plastic (PBT) flame-retardant casings may be used, but they must have a UL94 V-0 flammability rating to prevent fire hazards.

A high-quality MH capacitor should offer a service life of 30,000 to 60,000 hours. Buyers should request Type Test Reports and perform Accelerated Life Testing (ALT). Before shipment, insist on a 100% voltage withstand test and capacitance stability check to filter out early-stage failures (infant mortality).

The most significant risk is counterfeit components or 're-labeled' capacitors where low-grade film is used. Another risk is electrolyte leakage during transit due to poor sealing. To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com's audited supplier reports to verify the factory's manufacturing history and quality control equipment.

Negotiate based on raw material index pricing (specifically polypropylene film and aluminum costs). For custom specifications, expect a higher MOQ (typically 500-1,000 units). Request a tiered pricing structure where a 15-20% discount is applied when moving from LCL (Less than Container Load) to FCL (Full Container Load) volumes.

Capacitors are sensitive to humidity and extreme temperature fluctuations. Ensure the supplier uses vacuum-sealed moisture-proof packaging and sturdy, double-walled corrugated boxes with internal dividers to prevent terminal damage. For sea freight, specify below-deck storage to avoid excessive heat exposure.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released after proof of shipment. Additionally, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify that the capacitance tolerance and safety markings match the approved samples.
