Methylene urea price manufacturers

When comparing prices, you must analyze the Total Nitrogen (N) content, which typically ranges from 38% to 40%. Crucially, the price is dictated by the Activity Index (AI) and the ratio of Cold Water Soluble Nitrogen (CWSN), Cold Water Insoluble Nitrogen (CWIN), and Hot Water Insoluble Nitrogen (HWIN). A higher proportion of HWIN indicates a longer release profile (slow-release), which commands a premium price compared to standard urea.

Methylene Urea is available in granular, prilled, or powder forms. Granular MU (often 1.0mm to 3.0mm) is generally more expensive due to the granulation process costs and its suitability for precision turf application and blending. Powder forms are cheaper but are primarily used as raw materials for NPK compound fertilizers or specialty liquid applications.

Buyers should ensure the product meets ISO 9001 for quality management and possesses a valid Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch. For specific markets like the EU, REACH registration is mandatory. Additionally, verify the Heavy Metal Content (Lead, Arsenic, Cadmium) to ensure it stays within the safety limits defined by the destination country's agricultural department regulations.

MU is priced higher because it reduces nitrogen leaching and volatilization. It is ideal for professional golf course turf management, high-value horticultural crops, and slow-release fertilizer blending. The economic feasibility is found in the reduced frequency of application and higher nitrogen use efficiency (NUE), which lowers long-term labor and environmental costs.

The primary risks include purity fluctuations and moisture absorption during transit. To mitigate this, use SGS or Intertek third-party inspections before loading. Ensure the supplier uses moisture-proof PE/PP bags (typically 25kg or 1000kg jumbo bags) and request container photographs to verify proper sealing and palletization.

Negotiation should focus on volume-based pricing tiers. Since MU is a chemical commodity, prices fluctuate with natural gas and raw urea market indices. Seek formula-based pricing for long-term contracts or negotiate Free Time at Destination (demurrage) to 14-21 days to avoid port storage fees. For reliable sourcing, platforms like Made-in-China.com allow you to filter for Audited Suppliers to ensure factory legitimacy.

Always utilize Letter of Credit (L/C at sight) or Trade Assurance mechanisms for initial transactions. Avoid 100% T/T upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% against the Bill of Lading (B/L) copy is the industry norm. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the Nitrogen solubility specs, as 'Methylene Urea' can refer to various polymer lengths with different release rates.

MU is generally classified as non-hazardous for transport, but you must confirm the HS Code (typically 3102.10 or 3105.90) with your customs broker to determine import duties. When shipping to agricultural hubs, choose FCL (Full Container Load) to prevent cross-contamination with other chemicals. Ensure the supplier provides a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) in English for smooth customs clearance.
