Monobenzone powder manufacturers

Monobenzone (Hydroquinone Benzyl Ether) is primarily used as a topical depigmenting agent. Its key function is to permanently reduce melanin in the skin by increasing the excretion of melanin from melanocytes. In a B2B context, it is a critical raw material for pharmaceutical formulations targeting conditions like vitiligo and is also used in the chemical synthesis of specialized dyes and resins.

Buyers must ensure the product meets a purity level of ≥99% as verified by HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography). Key specifications include a melting point of 117-120°C and a loss on drying of ≤0.5%. It is essential to request a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch to confirm the absence of heavy metals and residual solvents.

As a potent chemical compound, Monobenzone must comply with USP (United States Pharmacopeia) or EP (European Pharmacopoeia) standards if intended for medical use. Suppliers should provide a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and be compliant with REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) for EU markets. Ensure the supplier holds an ISO 9001 certification for quality management.

The product is highly sensitive to light and oxidation. It should be packed in double-layer anti-static PE bags inside fiber drums (25kg/drum). Storage must be in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, strictly away from direct sunlight and strong oxidizing agents. Vacuum packaging is recommended for long-distance cross-border shipping to prevent moisture absorption.

Always utilize third-party inspection services (such as SGS or Intertek) to conduct pre-shipment testing. Never rely solely on the supplier's internal COA. For new suppliers on Made-in-China.com, start with a small sample order (100g-500g) to perform independent laboratory verification before committing to bulk volumes.

Focus negotiations on tiered pricing based on purity grades rather than just volume. Request long-term contract pricing to hedge against fluctuations in raw material costs. Ensure the contract includes a quality claim clause that specifies a 30-day window for returns or refunds if the purity fails to meet the agreed-upon specifications upon arrival.

Use secure payment methods that offer buyer protection, such as the escrow services provided by Made-in-China.com. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Ensure all Incoterms (e.g., CIF or DAP) are clearly defined in the Proforma Invoice to establish exactly when the risk of loss transfers from the seller to the buyer.

Monobenzone is often classified under HS Code 290949 or similar categories. You must confirm if your local customs require a Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) declaration or specific import licenses. Work with freight forwarders experienced in hazardous or sensitive chemical logistics to ensure proper labeling and to avoid delays during customs clearance.
