Mother son door manufacturers

When sourcing Mother Son Doors (unequal double doors), prioritize material durability and structural integrity. For steel security versions, ensure the door leaf thickness is at least 70mm to 90mm and the steel plate thickness is 0.8mm or higher. For wooden variants, solid wood or high-density composite cores are essential to prevent warping. Pay close attention to the hinge quality, as the larger 'mother' leaf requires heavy-duty reinforced hinges to support its weight and frequent use.

Compliance varies by destination market. For the US, doors must often meet UL 10C for fire rating and ASTM standards for impact resistance. For the EU, look for CE marking and compliance with EN 14351-1 (windows and doors standard). If the door is intended for fire safety, verify the fire-resistance rating (e.g., 30, 60, or 90 minutes) and ensure the supplier provides valid test reports from accredited third-party labs.

Security is a primary function of this door type. Ensure the product features a multi-point locking system (at least 3 to 5 locking points) that secures both the mother and son leaves. The 'son' leaf should have integrated flush bolts at the top and bottom to ensure it remains rigid when locked. Additionally, check for anti-pry protectors around the lockset and drill-resistant manganese steel plates protecting the lock cylinder.

Mother Son Doors are often used in high-end residential or grand entrances, so aesthetic and functional customization is key. Discuss surface finish options (e.g., powder coating, heat transfer printing, or real wood veneer) and glass inserts (ensure they are tempered or double-glazed for insulation). Confirm if the supplier can provide custom dimensions to fit non-standard openings, as a ±5mm error can lead to significant installation issues.

Doors are bulky and prone to corner damage or surface scratches. Insist on Five-Layer Corrugated Cardboard packaging with PE foam edge protectors and vacuum plastic wrapping. For LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, it is mandatory to request wooden crate or pallet reinforcement to prevent compression damage from other cargo.

Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for spare hardware kits (hinges, handles, and locks) to be included at no extra cost, as matching these locally can be difficult. For large orders, aim for a 15-20% discount by committing to a container-level volume, and use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to protect your deposit.

The most common error is the opening direction (Left-hand vs. Right-hand) and the wall thickness. Always provide a technical drawing for the supplier to sign off on before production. Ensure the threshold design (flat vs. raised) is compatible with the flooring of the destination country to avoid water leakage or tripping hazards.

Always verify the supplier's Business License and Export Qualifications. Use the Audit Reports available on Made-in-China.com to check if the factory has been physically inspected. For payment, utilize Escrow-based payment systems where the balance is only released upon the presentation of a Third-Party Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) report.
