Polyester jackets manufacturers

When evaluating polyester jackets, focus on fabric weight (GSM) and denier count to determine durability. For outdoor or performance wear, ensure the fabric has a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating and a breathability rating of at least 5,000g/m²/24h. Additionally, check for seam sealing technology (taped seams) to prevent water leakage and use high-quality zippers like YKK or SBS to ensure longevity under frequent use.

For the US market, products must comply with CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) regarding lead and phthalate content, and 16 CFR Part 1610 for flammability. For the EU, adherence to REACH regulations is mandatory to ensure no harmful chemicals are present. Furthermore, sourcing suppliers with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 or GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certifications is highly recommended for brands focusing on sustainability and consumer safety.

Request a Pre-Production Sample (PPS) to inspect the stitching density (typically 10-12 stitches per inch) and color accuracy under standard lighting (D65). Conduct a colorfastness test (ISO 105-X12) to ensure the dye does not bleed. It is also professional practice to hire a third-party inspection agency to perform an AQL 2.5/4.0 random inspection during the mid-production or pre-shipment phase to check for loose threads, sizing deviations, and fabric defects.

Polyester jackets serve various niches: Softshell jackets require high elasticity and windproofing for active sports; Puffer jackets need high-density 'down-proof' polyester fabric to prevent filling leakage; and Workwear jackets demand high-tenacity polyester (like Cordura-style weaves) for abrasion resistance. Always match the lining material (e.g., fleece for warmth or mesh for ventilation) to the intended end-use scenario.

Always utilize Trade Assurance services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until delivery is confirmed. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Verify the supplier's Business License and Export Qualification to ensure they are a legitimate manufacturing entity rather than an unlicensed middleman.

Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. If your initial volume is low, offer to pay a surcharge for lower MOQs or consolidate different sizes/colors into a single fabric run to help the factory reduce waste. For large orders, aim for a 15-20% volume discount and negotiate staggered payment terms (e.g., 30% deposit, 70% against B/L copy).

For large volumes, Sea Freight (FCL or LCL) is the most cost-effective, but ensure the use of desiccant silica gel packs in every carton to prevent mold during long transit times in humid sea containers. For urgent seasonal launches, consider Air Freight, but be mindful of volumetric weight charges. Always clarify the Incoterms (e.g., FOB, CIF, or DDP) in the contract to define exactly where the risk and cost transfer occurs.

Stay updated on Anti-Dumping Duties and specific Section 301 tariffs (for US buyers) that may apply to synthetic fibers from certain regions. Check if your country has a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the supplier's country to benefit from Reduced or Zero Duty Rates by obtaining a Certificate of Origin (Form E or Form F).
