Buyers should prioritize Brushless DC (BLDC) motors for longer lifespans and quieter operation (ideally <40dB). Battery capacity is critical; look for Lithium-ion batteries with at least 2000mAh to 10000mAh depending on the required runtime. Additionally, ensure the charging interface is USB Type-C for modern compatibility and faster charging speeds.

For the US market, UL or ETL certification is essential for battery-operated electronics. For the EU, CE marking, RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), and REACH compliance are mandatory. If the product includes a lithium battery, a UN38.3 test report and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) are required for safe air and sea transport.

Request the CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) rating to measure airflow volume. The number of fan blades (typically 3 to 7) affects wind softness and noise; more blades generally provide a more consistent and quieter breeze. Check for stepless speed control or at least 3-speed settings to meet diverse user needs.

The housing should be made of high-grade ABS or PP plastic, which offers impact resistance and prevents yellowing over time. For premium markets, consider models with aluminum alloy accents or silicone non-slip bases. Ensure the front grille is removable to allow for easy cleaning of the blades, a key selling point for end consumers.

Lithium batteries are classified as Class 9 Dangerous Goods. You must ensure the supplier provides proper DG (Dangerous Goods) packaging and valid UN38.3 certification. Failure to declare batteries correctly can lead to customs seizures, heavy fines, or shipment rejection by airlines.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for a 2-5% spare parts allowance (especially for charging cables and batteries) instead of a price discount. For bulk orders, request OEM branding (logo printing and custom packaging) to be included in the quoted price to increase your retail margin.

Always use Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payments. Conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) through a third-party agency to verify that the battery capacity and noise levels match the approved golden sample before the final balance is paid.

Check the HS Code (typically 8414.51) for your specific country to calculate import duties. For example, US buyers should be aware of Section 301 tariffs on Chinese-made electronics. Always request an FOB (Free On Board) quote to maintain control over your shipping costs and choose a freight forwarder experienced in battery-inclusive logistics.
