Rayon fabric factory manufacturers

When sourcing rayon (viscose), you must prioritize fabric weight (GSM), yarn count (e.g., 30s, 40s, 60s), and construction density. For high-quality apparel, a yarn count of 30s or 40s is standard, while 60s is used for premium, lightweight garments. Ensure the factory provides shrinkage control reports, as rayon is prone to shrinking; a professional factory should guarantee a shrinkage rate of less than 5%. Additionally, verify the colorfastness to washing and light, aiming for a Grade 4 or higher on the grayscale.

To ensure environmental and chemical safety, prioritize factories with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification, which guarantees the fabric is free from harmful substances. If you are targeting eco-conscious markets, look for FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification to ensure the wood pulp is sustainably sourced, or Lenzing™ certification for branded viscose. For European markets, compliance with REACH regulations is mandatory to ensure no restricted chemicals are used during the dyeing and finishing processes.

Request a factory audit report or a video tour of their weaving and dyeing facilities. A reliable factory should have an in-house laboratory for testing tensile strength and pilling resistance. Evaluate their Monthly Production Capacity (e.g., 1 million meters) to ensure they can scale with your needs. For quality consistency, ask for their Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regarding color matching (Lab Dips) and their policy on Point System inspections (4-Point System) for fabric defects.

Rayon is highly versatile, used primarily in ladies' dresses, blouses, and linings due to its excellent drape and silk-like feel. Factories can also apply functional finishes such as anti-static treatments, softeners for a 'sand-washed' effect, or wrinkle-resistant finishes. For summer collections, inquire about cool-touch technology or moisture-wicking enhancements to improve the fabric's natural breathability.

The biggest risks include color shade variance between batches and moisture damage during sea transit. To mitigate these, always request a Pre-Shipment Sample (PSS) for approval before the bulk leaves the factory. Ensure the supplier uses moisture-proof packaging (PE bags + woven bags) and includes desiccants in the container to prevent mildew during long-distance shipping.

Rayon pricing is heavily influenced by raw material pulp costs and dyeing complexity. Negotiate based on Total Volume rather than per-order; for example, commit to an annual volume to secure a 5-10% discount. For Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ), factories usually require 1,500 to 3,000 meters per color. If you are a startup, look for suppliers on Made-in-China.com that offer Ready-to-Ship (RTS) stock with MOQs as low as 1 roll (approx. 100 meters).

Always use secure payment methods such as Letters of Credit (L/C) for large volumes or Escrow-based trade assurance services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com. Never transfer full payments to private bank accounts. Utilize third-party inspection services (like SGS or Intertek) to conduct a Final Random Inspection (FRI) before making the final balance payment to ensure the goods match the agreed specifications.

Rayon is heavy; therefore, Sea Freight (FCL or LCL) is the most economical method. Ensure your supplier provides a detailed Packing List and Commercial Invoice with the correct HS Code (typically 5516 for woven rayon) to avoid customs delays. For urgent samples, Air Express (DHL/FedEx) is preferred. If shipping to the US or EU, clarify the Incoterms (FOB vs. DDP) to understand who is responsible for import duties and VAT clearance.
