Sorbitol powder factory manufacturers

When sourcing from a factory, ensure the product complies with Food Grade (FCC), Pharmaceutical Grade (USP/EP/BP), or Cosmetic Grade standards. Essential certifications include ISO 9001, ISO 22000 (HACCP), HALAL, and KOSHER, which are critical for international food and pharma trade. For pharmaceutical applications, verify if the factory holds a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certificate.

Focus on purity levels (typically ≥99%), moisture content (usually <1%), and particle size distribution (mesh size) to ensure it meets your specific production needs. For food applications, check the reducing sugar content (should be low to maintain non-cariogenic properties) and heavy metal limits (Lead ≤1mg/kg, Arsenic ≤2mg/kg) to ensure safety and compliance.

Sorbitol is highly versatile. In the Food Industry, it is used as a sugar substitute, humectant, and texturizer in sugar-free candies and baked goods. In Daily Chemicals, it is a key ingredient in toothpaste to prevent drying. In the Pharmaceutical Industry, it serves as an excipient for tablets and syrups. Understanding your specific application helps the factory recommend the correct granulation or crystalline form.

Inquire about the factory's annual production volume and their source of raw materials (usually corn starch). A stable supply chain of corn ensures price stability and consistent quality. Ask for Batch Inspection Reports (COA) from the last three months to verify consistency in quality across different production runs.

Always use Secure Payment Terms such as Letter of Credit (L/C) or platforms like Made-in-China.com that offer trade security services. Conduct a Third-Party Factory Audit (e.g., SGS or Intertek) to verify the factory's physical existence and production capabilities before sending large deposits.

Sorbitol is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture). Ensure the factory uses moisture-proof packaging, typically 25kg PE-lined kraft paper bags or jumbo bags. During cross-border transit, specify cool, dry container conditions and avoid high-humidity routes to prevent caking or clumping of the powder.

Pricing is heavily influenced by the global corn market. Negotiate based on volume tiers; bulk orders exceeding 20 tons (one full container load) usually trigger significant discounts. Request FOB (Free On Board) pricing to maintain better control over your logistics costs and insurance.

Check for Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) or specific import tariffs on polyols in your country. Ensure the factory provides a Certificate of Origin to help you benefit from preferential tariff rates under Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
