Strawberry seeds manufacturers

When sourcing strawberry seeds, buyers must prioritize germination rates, which should ideally be above 85%. It is crucial to distinguish between Ever-bearing (Day-neutral) varieties, which fruit throughout the season, and June-bearing varieties, which produce one large crop. Additionally, verify the purity level (99%+) to ensure no weed seeds are mixed in, and check for disease resistance markers, particularly against Phytophthora and Verticillium wilt.

Agricultural products are highly regulated. Suppliers must provide a Phytosanitary Certificate issued by their national plant protection organization to prove the seeds are pest-free. For the US market, compliance with USDA APHIS regulations is mandatory, while EU buyers must ensure seeds meet EC Plant Health directives. If sourcing organic seeds, look for IFOAM or USDA Organic certifications to validate chemical-free production.

Authenticity is best verified through varietal purity testing and trial reports. Request the supplier's Lot Number and Batch Testing Report to track the seed's origin. For high-value F1 hybrids, ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Analysis (COA). It is highly recommended to purchase a small trial sample to test the 'true-to-type' growth characteristics before committing to a bulk order.

Strawberry seeds are sensitive to moisture and heat. They should be packed in vacuum-sealed aluminum foil bags or moisture-proof containers. For long-distance shipping, ensure the seeds are kept in a cool, dry environment (5-10°C). Suppliers should use triple-layered packaging to prevent physical damage and environmental exposure during cross-border transit.

The biggest risk is Customs Seizure due to missing documentation or invasive species restrictions. To mitigate this, always consult your local Department of Agriculture for an Import Permit before the goods ship. Another risk is genetic degradation; ensure your contract includes a quality guarantee clause that allows for claims if germination rates fall significantly below the specified percentage upon arrival.

When negotiating on Made-in-China.com, focus on Tiered Pricing based on volume; for example, aim for a 15-20% discount for orders exceeding 10kg. Request OEM packaging (private labeling) if you are a retailer. To ensure security, always use Audit Reports available on the platform to verify the supplier's factory scale and export history before making a payment.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by the platform to ensure funds are only released upon confirmation of shipping documents. For large transactions, consider Third-Party Inspection (such as SGS or BV) to verify the seed quantity and packaging integrity at the supplier's warehouse before the container is sealed.

For high-value seeds, Air Freight is the preferred method to minimize the time spent in uncontrolled temperatures. If using Sea Freight, specify the use of Reefer Containers (Refrigerated) or ensure the cargo is stowed 'Below Deck' away from heat sources. Always include desiccant silica gel packs in the master cartons to manage humidity levels during the voyage.
