Sweet whey milk powder manufacturers

When evaluating SWP, you must prioritize the Protein Content (typically 11-13%) and Lactose Content (approx. 70-75%). Ensure the Ash Content is below 8% and Moisture Content is under 4% to prevent clumping and spoilage. For food-grade applications, the pH value should be between 5.8 and 6.6 to ensure it is truly 'sweet' whey and not acid whey, which has a different flavor profile and functionality.

Suppliers must provide HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and ISO 22000 certifications to guarantee food safety management. Depending on your target market, you may also require Halal or Kosher certifications. For entry into major markets, ensure the product meets Codex Alimentarius standards for dairy by-products and that the supplier provides a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch.

Request a scorched particle test report (Disc A is preferred) to ensure the drying process didn't burn the lactose. You should also evaluate the wettability and dispersibility; high-quality SWP should dissolve quickly without forming lumps. If purchasing for bakery or confectionery use, ask about the heat treatment level (Low-heat vs. High-heat), as this affects the foaming and emulsification properties of the proteins.

Sweet Whey Powder is highly hygroscopic. Ensure the supplier uses multi-wall paper bags with a polyethylene inner liner (usually 25kg bags). The product should have a shelf life of 12 to 24 months when stored in a cool, dry environment (temperature <25°C, humidity <65%). Always verify the production date to ensure you are not receiving 'old stock' which may have undergone the Maillard reaction (browning).

The biggest risks are microbiological contamination (e.g., Salmonella, Listeria) and adulteration. To mitigate this, use third-party inspection services (like SGS or Intertek) to perform pre-shipment sampling. Always verify the supplier's Export Registration Number with their national dairy authority to ensure they are legally permitted to ship animal-derived products internationally.

Dairy prices fluctuate based on global commodities markets (like the GDT). Negotiate formula-based pricing for long-term contracts to stay competitive. For new suppliers, use Secure Payment services on Made-in-China.com or a Letter of Credit (L/C) to ensure funds are only released upon verification of shipping documents and quality certificates.

Ensure the use of food-grade containers that are free from odors and moisture. Request desiccant bags inside the container to manage 'container rain' during sea transit. For long-haul shipping, palletization with shrink-wrap is highly recommended to prevent bag breakage and facilitate easier unloading at the destination port.

Check your local Customs and Agriculture Department regulations for 'Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE)' certificates or specific Health Certificates required for dairy imports. Failure to provide the exact wording required by your country's customs can lead to expensive port delays or seizure of the cargo.
