Used memory manufacturers

When sourcing used memory, you must verify the Generation (DDR3, DDR4, DDR5), Frequency (e.g., 3200MHz), and CAS Latency. For B2B buyers, it is critical to distinguish between Desktop UDIMM, Laptop SODIMM, and Server ECC/Registered memory, as they are not interchangeable. Always request the SPD (Serial Presence Detect) data or screenshots from diagnostic tools like CPU-Z or MemTest86 to ensure the modules match the advertised specifications.

Quality is paramount for used electronics. Ensure the supplier performs a full MemTest86+ cycle (100% pass) to check for bit errors. Inspect the Gold Fingers for excessive wear, oxidation, or scratches, and check for missing SMD components (capacitors/resistors) on the PCB. High-quality used memory should have original brand chips (Samsung, SK Hynix, Micron) rather than 're-marked' or 'white-label' chips.

Buyers must ensure products comply with RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) to meet international environmental standards. Since these are used goods, verify if your country has specific e-waste import regulations or requires a CCIC inspection (for China-bound or specific regional trade). Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Conformity or a formal declaration that the goods are functional 'secondary market' products and not scrap waste.

The primary advantage of used memory is a 30-50% cost saving compared to new units. However, you must factor in an expected RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) rate of 1-3%. To maintain profitability, negotiate a buffer of 1% extra units (FOC - Free of Charge) to be included in the shipment to cover immediate DOA (Dead on Arrival) cases without the need for international return shipping.

Counterfeiting is a major risk in the used market. Stick to reputable suppliers on Made-in-China.com who offer verified factory audits. Use a third-party inspection service (like SGS or Intertek) to perform random sampling before the final balance payment. Specifically, check that the chipset branding matches the PCB manufacturer and that labels are not recently overlaid.

Never use non-traceable payment methods. Utilize Escrow-based payment services provided by the platform to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. For large orders, use a Letter of Credit (L/C) or a 30% deposit / 70% balance after inspection structure. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the warranty period (ideally 6-12 months) and the refund policy for defective units.

Used memory is highly sensitive to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge). Insist that every module is packed in an individual anti-static bag or anti-static trays. For cross-border shipping, use vacuum packaging with moisture-absorbent silica gel and sturdy, double-walled outer cartons to prevent physical pressure damage during transit. Ensure the shipment is insured for its full replacement value.

Accurately declare the goods as 'Used Computer Parts' or 'Refurbished Memory Modules' to avoid customs seizures for misdeclaration. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties or specific tariffs on electronics between your country and the shipping origin. Provide a detailed Packing List and Commercial Invoice that includes the HS Code (typically 8473.30) to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
