Valeo clutch disc manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize precise dimensions and spline counts to ensure mechanical compatibility. Key specs include the outer diameter (OD), inner diameter (ID), and the number of teeth on the spline. For heavy-duty applications, verify the friction material composition (e.g., organic, semi-metallic, or ceramic) and ensure the disc features high-strength torsion springs to effectively dampen engine vibrations and protect the transmission.

Professional sourcing requires verification of IATF 16949:2016 certification, which is the global quality management standard for the automotive industry. Additionally, ensure products comply with ISO 9001 for manufacturing consistency. For European markets, check for E-mark (ECE R90) certification, which guarantees that the friction components perform within a specific margin of the original equipment (OE) parts.

A high-quality clutch disc should undergo burst strength testing to ensure it can withstand high RPMs without disintegrating. Look for suppliers that provide data on wear resistance (measured in millimeters per 1,000 cycles) and heat fade resistance. The riveting quality of the friction linings to the carrier plate is also critical; there should be zero lateral run-out to prevent gear shifting issues.

Organic linings are ideal for passenger cars due to their smooth engagement and low noise, but they have lower heat tolerance. For heavy-duty trucks or racing applications, ceramic or sintered metallic materials are preferred because they offer superior heat dissipation and higher torque capacity, although they may result in a harsher engagement feel.

Authentic Valeo products feature unique holographic labels, engraved batch codes, and specific QR codes for traceability. When sourcing from Made-in-China.com, look for 'Audited Suppliers' who provide OEM/ODM services. If purchasing 'Valeo Type' (aftermarket) discs, ensure the supplier provides a detailed material analysis report to confirm the quality matches the price point.

The main risks are oxidation (rusting) and physical deformation during transit. Ensure the supplier uses VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) packaging or vacuum-sealed plastic wrap. For bulk orders, specify palletized shipping with reinforced corner protectors to prevent the weight of the discs from crushing the bottom boxes, which can lead to warped carrier plates.

Focus on Tiered Pricing based on volume; for orders exceeding 500 units, aim for a 15-20% discount compared to sample prices. Negotiate for 'Warranty Reserve' funds (e.g., 2-3% of order value) or a 1% defect allowance where the supplier provides extra units free of charge to cover potential shipping damages or minor manufacturing flaws.

Utilize Secure Payment services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. Regarding trade policies, verify the HS Code (typically 8708.93) to calculate accurate import duties and anti-dumping taxes in your specific country. Always request a Certificate of Origin (CO) to benefit from potential Free Trade Agreement (FTA) tariff reductions.
