Wholesale ceramic dolls manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize Bisque porcelain (unglazed ceramic) for a realistic skin-like texture, which is the industry standard for high-end collectables. Ensure the firing temperature exceeds 1200°C to guarantee structural durability and prevent brittleness. For the doll's eyes, hand-blown glass offers superior depth compared to plastic, while hair should ideally be made of mohair or high-temperature synthetic fiber for a natural appearance and heat resistance.

Since these products are often classified as toys or collectibles, they must meet strict safety regulations. For the US market, ASTM F963 and CPSIA compliance is mandatory, specifically regarding lead and phthalate content in paints. For the EU, ensure the products carry the CE mark and comply with EN71 parts 1, 2, and 3. Always request Heavy Metal Testing Reports to ensure the glazes and pigments used are non-toxic.

Focus on the fineness of the hand-painted details, particularly the symmetry of the eyes and the delicacy of the eyelashes. Request photos of the internal stringing or joint mechanisms; high-quality dolls use durable elastic cord or ball-jointed structures for better poseability. Additionally, check the fabric quality of the doll's clothing, looking for finished seams and the use of natural textiles like silk or cotton rather than low-grade polyester.

Professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com typically offer custom mold creation based on 3D designs or sketches. You should inquire about Private Labeling (OEM) for the neck markings and gift box packaging. Discuss Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ) for custom outfits, as textile components often have different production scales than the ceramic bodies themselves.

Ceramic dolls are highly fragile. You must mandate 5-layer corrugated outer cartons and individual custom-fit EPE foam or molded pulp packaging for each unit. Require the supplier to perform a ISTA 1A Drop Test before shipment. For large wholesale orders, palletizing the cargo with plastic wrap and corner protectors significantly reduces the risk of mishandling by courier services.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. For initial orders, a 30% deposit and 70% balance payment against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is standard. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts; always ensure the beneficiary name matches the company name on the business license.

Verify the HS Code (typically 9503.00 for dolls) with your local customs office to determine applicable tariffs. Be aware that some regions may apply Anti-Dumping Duties on specific ceramic categories. Work with a freight forwarder experienced in DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms if you want a landed cost that includes all taxes and clearance fees, providing better price predictability.

Hire a third-party inspector to verify: 1. Quantity and assortment accuracy; 2. Visual inspection for cracks, chips, or paint smudges; 3. Functionality of joints and removable parts; 4. Packaging integrity. Ensure the inspector checks for mold or moisture inside the packaging, which can occur during sea freight if silica gel desiccant packets are not included.
