Wholesale tungsten dart manufacturers

The most critical factor is the Tungsten Percentage, typically ranging from 80% to 95%. Higher tungsten content allows for a slimmer barrel design, enabling tighter groupings on the dartboard. You must also verify the Weight Tolerance, which should be within ±0.05g to ±0.1g for professional-grade sets. Additionally, evaluate the Grip Pattern (knurled, ringed, or shark fin) and the Surface Coating (such as Titanium Nitride or PVD) to ensure durability and consistent release.

Ensure the products comply with DRA (Darts Regulation Authority) standards regarding maximum length (30.5cm) and weight (50g). For the materials, request RoHS and REACH certifications to confirm the absence of hazardous heavy metals in the alloys or coatings. If the darts are intended for retail in the US or EU, verify compliance with ASTM F963 or EN71 if they could be accessible to minors, focusing on sharp point warnings and mechanical safety.

For entry-level retail, 80% tungsten offers the best balance of cost and performance. For the premium professional market, 90-95% tungsten is the industry standard but comes with a 20-40% price premium due to the difficulty of machining harder alloys. B2B buyers should analyze the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), including the dart barrels, shafts (nylon vs. aluminum), and flights, as high-quality integrated sets reduce the need for frequent replacements.

Yes, most top-tier manufacturers on Made-in-China.com offer Laser Engraving for logos on the barrels and Custom UV Printing for flights. When sourcing, confirm if the supplier provides Custom Blister Packaging or Luxury Gift Boxes, and check the MOQ for customization, which typically starts at 500 to 1,000 sets for bespoke designs.

The primary risk is Material Fraud, where suppliers may substitute high-percentage tungsten with cheaper lead or nickel alloys. To mitigate this, always request a Material Analysis Report (Spectroscopy Test). Another risk is Weight Inconsistency across a bulk shipment; ensure your contract specifies a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify that every set meets the advertised weight specifications.

Utilize Secure Payment Terms such as Letters of Credit (L/C) or Escrow services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Negotiate a 30/70 payment structure, where the final 70% is only paid after a successful third-party quality inspection. Clearly define Incoterms (e.g., FOB or DAP) in the contract to avoid hidden logistics costs or disputes over insurance.

Tungsten is a high-density, heavy material, making Sea Freight the most cost-effective method for large bulk orders. However, for high-value professional darts, Air Freight may be preferred to reduce lead times. Ensure the packaging includes Anti-Corrosion Desiccants and robust inner padding to prevent the steel tips from piercing the outer cartons during transit. Always verify the HS Code (typically 9504.30 or 9504.90) to ensure accurate customs duty calculation.
