Women short pants manufacturers

For athleisure and sports shorts, prioritize moisture-wicking fabrics (like nylon/spandex blends) with a GSM (Grams per Square Meter) of 220-300 to ensure squat-proof opacity. For casual or fashion shorts, focus on fabric composition such as 100% combed cotton or high-quality linen blends for breathability. Ensure seam strength meets industrial standards (at least 4-needle 6-thread coverstitch for activewear) to prevent tearing during high-intensity use.

Buyers must verify that products meet OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 to ensure the absence of harmful chemicals. For the US market, compliance with CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) regarding lead content and flammability is mandatory. For the EU, ensure adherence to REACH regulations. If sourcing sustainable products, look for GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) or GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certifications.

Request a pre-production sample (PPS) to conduct colorfastness tests (aim for Grade 4 or higher) and shrinkage tests (should be less than 3-5%). Check the zipper quality (e.g., YKK or SBS brands) and the elasticity recovery rate of the waistband. For denim shorts, verify the washing process to ensure no chemical residue or unpleasant odors remain.

A top-tier supplier should offer OEM/ODM services, including Tech Pack development, custom labeling (heat transfer or woven), and bespoke packaging. Ensure the supplier can provide CAD patterns for size grading (XS to Plus Size) and is capable of low MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) for initial market testing, typically ranging from 50 to 200 pieces per color.

The primary risks include size discrepancy and material substitution. Mitigate these by providing a detailed size chart (in cm/inches) and using third-party inspection services (like V-Trust or SGS) to perform a Final Random Inspection (FRI) before the balance payment. Always use Secure Payment services on platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until shipping is confirmed.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate based on volume tiers (e.g., 500, 1000, 5000 units) and ask for inclusive pricing that covers labels and polybags. Discuss lead times clearly, especially during peak seasons like before the Lunar New Year, to avoid stockouts.

For small batches, Air Express (DHL/FedEx) is fastest but costly. For bulk orders, Sea Freight (FOB terms) is most economical. Ensure the supplier provides a Packing List and Commercial Invoice with the correct HS Code (typically 6204.62 for cotton shorts) to avoid customs delays and ensure accurate import duty calculation.
