Acrylic has a higher thermal expansion coefficient than concrete, so the installation must include expansion joints using specialized silicone sealants like Dow Corning 795. The rebate (the groove where the acrylic sits) must be perfectly level and smooth to prevent stress concentrations. It is highly recommended to choose a supplier that provides on-site waterproof sealing services or detailed installation supervision to avoid leaks.

Suppliers should comply with ISO 9001 for quality management and provide SGS or TUV test reports for tensile strength and impact resistance. For the US market, check for ASTM D2843 (smoke density) and ASTM D635 (burn rate) compliance. Ensure the bonding technology used for large panels is chemical molecular bonding, which makes the seams as strong as the panel itself, rather than simple glue.

Since acrylic pools are high-ticket items, use secured payment terms such as Letter of Credit (L/C) or payment through Made-in-China.com's secured trading services. Never pay 100% upfront; a standard industry practice is 30% deposit and 70% balance after a successful pre-shipment inspection.

Acrylic is susceptible to surface scratches. Panels must be covered with PE protective film on both sides and packed in custom-built steel-reinforced wooden crates. If the crate is damaged, take photos immediately and note the damage on the delivery receipt. Request the supplier to include impact sensors (ShockWatch labels) on the packaging to detect if the panels were mishandled during transit.

Focus the negotiation on technical support and warranty terms rather than just the lowest price. A supplier offering a comprehensive 10-year structural warranty and free technical drawings (CAD/BIM) is often more cost-effective than a cheaper one that provides no after-sales support.
