Regarding waterproofing, check the quality of PVC Magnetic Seals and Water-retaining Strips. If you are sourcing for a large-scale project, ensure the supplier can provide CAD/BIM drawings and offers Customization (OEM/ODM) for specific dimensions, glass patterns, and hardware styles.

The biggest risk is Breakage during transit. To mitigate this, insist on 5-layer corrugated export cartons with Honeycomb board or EPE foam protection. For LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, it is mandatory to use Plywood Crates or Pallets to prevent compression. Ensure the supplier includes a 'Fragile' warning label and consider purchasing Marine Insurance to cover potential losses.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone on-site inspections by third-party agencies like SGS, TÜV Rheinland, or Intertek. Check their Audit Reports for production capacity and quality control processes. It is also wise to request a Sample Order to test the hardware smoothness and glass clarity before committing to a full container.

For bulk orders, FOB (Free On Board) is recommended as it gives you control over the shipping freight and schedule. Regarding payment, use Secured Trading Services or Letter of Credit (L/C) for large amounts. A standard payment structure is 30% T/T deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) copy after a successful pre-shipment inspection.

Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin to potentially reduce import tariffs. For the US market, check for CUPC certification if plumbing fixtures are included. For the UK, ensure UKCA marking is applied where necessary. Always confirm the HS Code (typically 702000 or 761090) with your local customs broker to calculate accurate import duties and taxes.
