Look for boards featuring an interlocking tongue-and-groove system, which significantly reduces installation time and prevents water seepage at the joints. Always check the load-bearing requirements of your substrate to ensure it can support the weight of the chosen cladding (e.g., fiber cement is much heavier than PU).

High-quality cladding should be low-maintenance. Ensure the surface has a hydrophobic coating to prevent moss growth and water absorption. For exterior use, the colorfastness rating (Grade 4-5) is critical to prevent uneven bleaching. Most modern composite brick boards only require low-pressure water cleaning every 2-3 years to maintain their appearance.

For LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, insist on wooden crates rather than just pallets to prevent crushing. Request a video factory tour to inspect their drying kilns or molding machinery, ensuring they are a true manufacturer and not a trading middleman.

Never skip the sample phase. Request a full-size panel sample rather than a small swatch to check for warping and color consistency. Conduct a 'Soak Test' by submerging the sample in water for 48 hours to check for expansion rates or delamination.
