For shipping efficiency, ensure the standee is designed to be flat-packed (K/D - Knocked Down), which significantly reduces logistics costs and minimizes the risk of damage during transit.

As global regulations tighten on single-use plastics, ensure your standees are 100% recyclable. Look for suppliers with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification, which guarantees the paper comes from responsibly managed forests. For international markets, verify that the adhesives and inks used are non-toxic and eco-friendly (SGS/RoHS compliant).

Cardboard is highly susceptible to edge crushing and moisture. Insist on 5-layer corrugated outer shipping cartons and the use of plastic corner protectors within the packaging. For sea freight, request palletization with shrink wrap to prevent humidity from softening the cardboard, which can lead to structural failure before the product even reaches the retail floor.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate based on volume tiers; for cardboard displays, the setup cost for printing plates is high, so unit prices drop significantly as quantities increase (e.g., 500 vs. 2,000 units). Ask the supplier to include the cost of custom packaging and structural design tweaks in the initial quote to avoid hidden 'add-on' fees later.

Check the supplier's profile on Made-in-China.com for 'Audited Supplier' status. Review their R&D capacity—a professional supplier should have in-house structural designers who can provide CAD templates (Dielines) within 24-48 hours. Request a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) or a video of a load-bearing test where the standee is loaded with 1.2x the intended weight for 24 hours.

Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) that some countries impose on specific paper-based products from overseas. Ensure the HS Code (typically 4819.10 or 4823.90) is correctly declared on the Commercial Invoice to avoid customs delays. If you are sourcing from China, leverage the RCEP or relevant Free Trade Agreements to potentially reduce import tariffs.
