The bearing determines how easily the trolley moves. Ball Bearings are best for heavy loads and frequent movement as they provide the lowest friction. Roller Bearings are ideal for high-impact loads but slower speeds. For light-duty or wash-down environments, Plain Bearings (Bushing) are more cost-effective and maintenance-free as they do not rust like steel balls.

Ensure the products meet EN 12532 (standard for industrial castors) or ISO 22881. For medical or institutional use, DIN standards are often required. If exporting to the EU, verify REACH and RoHS compliance for the chemical composition of the rubber or plastic components to ensure they are free from hazardous substances.

Request a Salt Spray Test Report (typically 24-48 hours) to ensure the zinc plating or stainless steel finish will not rust during sea transit. Always ask for a Load Deformation Test video. Focus on the weight of the steel bracket and the purity of the plastic/rubber rather than just the unit price. Suppliers may lower prices by using recycled materials which crack easily. Negotiate based on Annual Purchase Volume (APV) to secure a 5-10% discount compared to one-off spot orders. Request free replacement parts (1-2% buffer) for wear-and-tear items like brake springs in your contract.

Castors are dense and heavy; ensure the supplier uses reinforced double-corrugated cartons and palletizes the shipment with plastic strapping. Since castors are prone to shifting, moisture-absorbent bags should be placed inside the containers to prevent 'container rain' from causing surface oxidation on the metal brackets during long-haul ocean freight.
