You should provide artwork in CMYK color mode with a resolution of at least 300 DPI. The file should include a bleed area (usually 3mm) and clearly mark the inner and outer diameters (standard outer is 118mm, inner is 22mm or 35mm). Specify whether you require a white base coat (white flood) under the print, which ensures colors appear accurate on the silver reflective surface.

Ensure the discs meet REACH and RoHS standards for chemical safety, particularly regarding the polycarbonate and inks used. If the discs contain software or media, you must provide a Letter of Authorization (LOA) or IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) clearance to the supplier to comply with international anti-piracy laws and customs regulations.

Before sharing master files, sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Use reputable suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have verified 'Diamond Member' status, as they are more likely to respect IP protocols. For sensitive data, consider sending encrypted DDP (Disc Description Protocol) images rather than physical masters.

Discs are sensitive to extreme heat and pressure. Ensure the supplier uses double-walled corrugated cartons and internal padding to prevent cracking. For large shipments, palletization is highly recommended to minimize manual handling. Be aware that customs in some countries may perform random inspections for content, which can delay delivery by 3-5 days.

Unit prices drop significantly as volume increases; for example, 5,000 units can be 40% cheaper per unit than 500 units. Negotiate for free physical samples (or 'press proofs') before the full run.
