When sourcing CBPB, you must prioritize density, moisture content, and bending strength. High-quality boards typically have a density of 1100-1400 kg/m³. Ensure the moisture content is between 6% and 12% to prevent warping after installation. For structural applications, the Modulus of Rupture (MOR) should exceed 9 MPa, and the Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) should be at least 3000 MPa to ensure load-bearing reliability.

Compliance is critical for customs clearance and building safety. Ensure the product meets EN 634-1 and EN 634-2 (European standards for cement-bonded particle boards). For fire safety, the board should achieve a Class B1 or A2 fire rating (EN 13501-1), making it 'non-combustible' or 'limited combustibility'. If exporting to the US, verify ASTM E84 compliance for flame spread and smoke development.

CBPB combines the strength of Portland cement with the flexibility of wood particles. For outdoor or high-humidity use (like facades or bathrooms), ensure the board is fungus and termite resistant. The alkaline nature of the cement (pH 11-13) naturally inhibits biological growth. However, for extreme weather, specify thickness tolerances of ±0.3mm to ±1.0mm to ensure seamless jointing and prevent water ingress.

CBPB is highly versatile. It is primarily used for external wall cladding (facades) due to its weather resistance, internal partitions for sound insulation (typically 30-35 dB for a single board), and flooring underlayment in modular housing. It is also an excellent choice for permanent formwork in concrete construction and fire-rated ceilings in commercial buildings.

The biggest risks are breakage due to brittleness and moisture damage. CBPB is heavy and can crack if dropped. Insist on reinforced pallet packaging with edge protectors and waterproof plastic shrink-wrap. Since these boards are heavy, ensure the container load does not exceed local road weight limits at the destination port to avoid heavy fines.

Request a Third-Party Inspection (TPI) such as SGS or Intertek before the final payment. Negotiate a sample consistency clause where the bulk order must match the density and fire-rating of the approved sample. For large projects, ask for a 10-year limited warranty on structural integrity and resistance to rot.
