Request a video audit of the production line to distinguish between mass-produced mold-cast items and hand-painted or hand-carved pieces. Look for slight irregularities in patterns which indicate authentic handwork. For high-end collectibles, ask for a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the master craftsman or the factory’s quality head.

Standard export packaging is insufficient. Require 5-layer corrugated outer boxes, custom-fit EPE foam inserts, and individual inner gift boxes. For oversized porcelain or heavy stone carvings, wooden crates (ISPM 15 compliant) are non-negotiable to prevent transit damage during sea freight.

Ensure the supplier provides a clear invoice stating 'Modern Reproduction' and includes a HS Code 6913 (Statuettes and other ornamental ceramic articles) or 4420 (Wood marquetry and inlaid wood) to avoid export delays or seizures.
