Professional buyers must request recent batch test reports covering three critical areas: Burst Volume and Pressure tests (to ensure elasticity and strength), Freedom from Holes (Water Leak Test) to ensure 100% barrier integrity, and Package Integrity tests. Ensure the lubricant quantity (typically 250mg to 450mg) and shelf life stability data (usually 3-5 years) are clearly documented.

While Natural Rubber Latex is the industry standard, you should consider Non-Latex (Polyurethane or Polyisoprene) options for users with allergies. For value-added products, evaluate the quality of textured surfaces (ribbed or dotted) and the safety of flavoring/scenting agents. The biggest risk is Regulatory Seizure if the products do not meet the specific medical device registration requirements of the importing country. Another risk is Degradation during Shipping; condoms are sensitive to extreme heat and UV light. Always specify temperature-controlled shipping or avoid prolonged exposure to heat in port warehouses to prevent the latex from becoming brittle.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone third-party verification by agencies like SGS or TÜV Rheinland. Check their Business License to ensure their scope includes 'Medical Device Production.' Request a live video inspection of their cleanroom facilities and automated testing lines to ensure they are a genuine manufacturer and not a middleman.

Focus on Total Cost of Quality rather than just the unit price. Negotiate based on MOQ tiers (e.g., 100,000 units vs. 500,000 units) and ask for OEM/Private Labeling costs to be included in the initial quote. Request a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) clause in the contract, allowing a third party to perform random sampling (AQL 1.0 or 0.65) before final payment.

Ensure the HS Code (typically 4014.10) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays. Because these are medical products, customs may request a Certificate of Free Sale (CFS).
