For safety-critical applications, verify the Fire Retardant Grade (Class A or Class B) according to ASTM E84 or UL 94 testing. If the project is in a coastal area, request salt spray resistance reports and ISO 9001 certification to guarantee consistent manufacturing quality.

Thickness typically ranges from 0.8mm to 3.0mm. A thickness of 1.5mm or above is recommended for industrial roofing to provide adequate impact resistance against hail and wind loads. Thicker sheets offer better load-bearing capacity and a longer service life, often exceeding 15-20 years, whereas thinner sheets (under 1.2mm) are more suitable for temporary structures or decorative cladding.

FRP sheets are ideal for corrosive environments such as chemical plants, fertilizer warehouses, and wastewater treatment facilities because they are non-corrosive and acid-resistant. Unlike metal, FRP provides excellent electrical insulation and thermal insulation, reducing condensation and noise from rain. They are also widely used in greenhouses and skylights due to their ability to diffuse light, which prevents 'hot spots' and plant scorching.

The biggest risk is physical damage (cracking or warping) during LCL (Less than Container Load) shipping. It is highly recommended to use steel pallets or reinforced wooden crates rather than simple plastic wrapping. Ensure the supplier uses moisture-proof packaging to prevent water stains between sheets, which can cause surface degradation during long sea voyages. For large orders, FCL (Full Container Load) is the safest method to minimize handling.

Start by requesting a technical data sheet (TDS) and a factory inspection video. Negotiate a sample validation process where the bulk production must match the approved sample's weight and light transmission. Use Trade Resources or third-party inspection services like SGS or Intertek to conduct a pre-shipment inspection, focusing on thickness uniformity and edge smoothness.

Always conduct transactions through secure payment channels provided by the platform. Use a 30% deposit and 70% balance payment against the Bill of Lading (B/L) structure. Avoid direct transfers to private bank accounts. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the HS Code (typically 3920.61), precise dimensions, and the specific brand of UV coating used, as this provides legal recourse in case of disputes.

FRP panels can be produced in lengths exceeding 11.8 meters, which fits a 40ft High Cube container. However, if your panels exceed this length, you must consider Special Rack Containers or Breakbulk shipping, which significantly increases costs. Always confirm the loading plan with the supplier to ensure the maximum number of sheets per crate to optimize freight-per-unit costs.
