Verify that the supplier holds ISO 9001 certification for consistent quality management.

FRP is relatively brittle. You must insist on customized wooden crate packaging with internal shock-absorbing foam or bubble wrap. For oversized sculptures, use reinforced steel-frame crates. It is highly recommended to purchase All-Risk Marine Insurance to cover potential cracks or breakages during sea transit.

Focus on the mold fee; if you are ordering in volume, negotiate for a mold fee refund after reaching a certain quantity. For custom designs, clarify Intellectual Property (IP) rights in the contract to ensure the supplier does not resell your unique design to other buyers on platforms like Made-in-China.com.

Request a detailed installation manual or video guide. For complex pieces, ensure the supplier provides pre-assembly photos at the factory. Confirm that all expansion bolts and mounting hardware are included in the package and are made of 304 stainless steel to prevent rust.

Check the HS Code (typically 3926.40) for import duties in your country. Because sculptures are often high-volume but low-weight, calculate the volumetric weight carefully with your freight forwarder. For large projects, FOB (Free On Board) is preferred to maintain control over the shipping costs and the choice of carrier.
