To avoid costly on-site errors, request CAD or BIM drawings from the supplier for approval before production. Ensure the hole drilling positions in the glass have a tolerance of no more than ±1mm. If you are using a frameless system, confirm the U-channel adjustment range to compensate for uneven floor levels. Choosing a modular, bolt-on system rather than one requiring on-site welding will significantly reduce labor costs and installation time.

Glass is fragile and heavy. You must mandate customized plywood crates (not solid wood, to avoid fumigation issues) with shock-absorbing foam between each panel. Ensure the crates are packed vertically rather than flat-stacked. It is highly recommended to purchase All-Risk Marine Insurance and include a clause for 'concealed damage' discovery within 7-14 days after delivery.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for spare hardware parts (3-5% extra) to be included at no cost to cover potential losses during installation. For large projects, request a staggered payment schedule linked to production milestones: 30% deposit, 40% after passing a third-party pre-shipment inspection (like SGS or Intertek), and 30% against the Bill of Lading.

Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) and Countervailing Duties (CVD) that some countries (like the US or EU) impose on specific Chinese glass categories. Always check the HS Code (typically 7007.11 or 7007.21) with a local customs broker to calculate the exact import tax. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin to potentially benefit from preferential trade agreements.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have undergone on-site factory inspections. Check if they have a dedicated QC team and ask for videos of their fragmentation tests (counting the number of particles in a 50x50mm square after breaking). A reliable supplier should also be able to provide project references or case studies of previous exports to your specific region.
