Marble is extremely fragile. You must mandate honeycomb cardboard packaging, thick EPE foam corner protection, and most importantly, a solid wooden crate or pallet for LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments. Request a drop test report from the supplier and ensure the shipping terms include all-risk insurance.

Focus on Total Landed Cost rather than just the unit price. Negotiate based on volume tiers (e.g., 20ft vs 40ft container) and ask for spare hardware parts (1-2%) to be included for free. If you are a repeat buyer, negotiate for a 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) to improve your cash flow.

Hire a third-party inspector to perform a water drainage test to check for leaks and proper slope. Verify the color consistency between the marble top and the cabinet paint. Use a moisture meter to ensure the wood moisture content is between 8% and 12% to prevent warping or cracking when the product reaches a different climate.
