It should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse; under optimal conditions, the shelf life is generally 6 to 12 months.

The biggest risk is Customs Rejection due to quarantine non-compliance. Many countries have strict bans on animal proteins from specific regions due to disease outbreaks (like ASF or Bird Flu). Always verify your country's latest import protocol for animal by-products before placing a deposit. Another risk is adulteration with urea or melamine to artificially boost nitrogen/protein readings; always use third-party inspection services like SGS at the loading port.
