Prioritize suppliers operating under ISO 15378 (Primary packaging materials for medicinal products) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) conditions. The production should ideally take place in a Class 100,000 (ISO 8) cleanroom to prevent microbial and particulate contamination.

Request a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for every batch and utilize third-party inspection services (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). Focus on dimensional accuracy, seal integrity (vacuum leak tests), and wall thickness consistency.

Plastic containers are lightweight but high-volume, meaning you will likely be charged based on volumetric weight. To optimize costs, use nested designs if possible or negotiate sea freight (FCL) for large volumes. Ensure the packaging uses heavy-duty corrugated cartons to prevent crushing during transit, which can compromise the structural integrity of the bottles.

Ensure the supplier provides a Declaration of Conformity and that the HS Code (typically 3923.30) is correctly declared. For the US market, verify if the supplier has a Drug Master File (DMF) registered with the FDA, as this significantly simplifies the regulatory approval process for your end product.

Start by requesting a sample kit to verify the 'hand-feel' and thread precision. When negotiating, leverage long-term volume forecasts rather than just the initial order to secure tier-1 pricing.
