The window is typically made from PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) or PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride). For eco-conscious brands, PLA (Polylactic Acid) or Cellulose film are biodegradable alternatives. Ensure the film thickness is at least 0.15mm to 0.25mm to prevent puncturing and maintain structural clarity.

Large windows can weaken the box. You should specify high-grammage paperboard (e.g., 350gsm to 450gsm White Cardboard or Corrugated B-Flute). Request reinforced glue points around the window perimeter and ensure the window film overlaps the cardboard by at least 10-15mm to prevent detachment during transit.

If the box is for food, both the paperboard and the plastic window must be FDA-approved or meet EU Regulation No 10/2011. Ensure the supplier provides Migration Testing reports to prove that chemicals from the glue or plastic do not leach into the food product.

For a premium look, use CMYK Offset Printing combined with Spot UV or Hot Foil Stamping. To ensure color consistency across batches, require the supplier to follow the Pantone Matching System (PMS) and provide a digital or physical press proof before mass production.

Request that the supplier applies a protective PE film over the windows or uses tissue paper interleaving between stacked boxes. Ensure the outer shipping cartons are double-walled (5-layer corrugated) and meet ISTA 3A shipping standards to withstand moisture and pressure.

Focus on volume-based pricing tiers. Packaging has high setup costs (die-cutting molds and printing plates); increasing your order from 1,000 to 5,000 units can often reduce the unit price by 30-50%. Ask for free plate making for repeat orders to lower long-term costs.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone on-site inspections by third-party agencies like SGS or TÜV Rheinland. Check their Trust Points and look for a 'Diamond' or 'Gold' member status, which indicates a long-standing history of reliable exports.

Packaging boxes are lightweight but high-volume. FOB (Free On Board) is generally preferred for large orders to maintain control over freight costs. However, for smaller trial orders, DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) is more convenient as it includes all customs duties and local delivery, reducing the administrative burden on the buyer.
